SOLDIERX.COM Nobody Can Stop Information Insemination

I have been looking into harddisk data recovery since my backup drive went out while i was preparing to backup to cd/dvd. I would like some suggestions from the community on which software works best for recovering data from harddrives. My harddrive is attached according to dmesg however fdisk -l yields nothing Im guessing the partition info has been lost.

I have found many programs that I can try my goal is to get feedback from users that have experience with using such programs and to limit the list of what I should try to use so that I dont have to try them all, please tell me what worked for you all
