Hey everyone,
I just thought I would pop on here for a minute and update you all as to what I'll be posting here soon.
First, I will be posting a new rant soon over a well-known piece of shit called Queen of the Damned. I've been writing it for a while, and was originally going to be posted before Rambo III, but due to my loyalty to the original books and the first film, most of the rant broke down into mainly four-lettered words and it wasn't making much sense.
This past week Wario Land Shake It and Mega Man 9 were both released. While both of these games are done in the vein of classic platformers, they also represent the two different schools of thought on how to handle the retrogaming experience.
Normally I would have continued onto my next topic, but something I obviously forgot to tackle was one other platform that games are being developed for, the PC. As I recently upgraded my videocard in my Home Theater PC setup, I decided to fire up Unreal Tournament 3 to see how well it would play. First I decided to go 1280x720 at max settings and like I expected it stayed at 60 fps all the time. Then somewhat for humor I decided to try 1920x1080 and surprisingly, it ran dead on.
Ah, the 80's, where action movies seemed to be crawling out of the woodwork and onto our movie screens. Some of the biggest action franchises from the last 30 years started out in the eighties. Lethal Weapon, Beverly Hills Cop, Die Hard, Indiana Jones, and unfortunately, Rambo. Now there have been multiple rants on the naming of the movies and how they generally don't make any fucking sense (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEVzPCY2T-g). But for the purposes of this rant I will only be focusing in on the worst of the original three, the aptly titled Rambo III.

What do you get when you take a little Harry Potter, add a dash of Tolkien and throw in a ton of shit? The Sci Fi movie event: Earthsea! Yes, from the same people who would later on bring you such classics as Highlander: The Source (I'll rant on that one once I can finally make it through that glorious cluster-fuck of a movie) and Dracula 3000 (I'm not going to even comment on that piss poor excuse of a vampire movie), comes Earthsea.
For the last 3 years now I'm sure most people have heard all the hype about Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 making games go HD. Well, now that both consoles have been out for a decent amount of time now I'm going to see how well this promise has been upheld by mentioning the native resolutions and framerates of games that have appeared on these systems:
Assassin's Creed:
Both consoles - 720p with both consoles suffering framerate issues thus failing to meet the 720p standard of 60 frames per second.
GTA 4:
Xbox 360 - 720p
Playstation 3 - 1152x640
So here we go, the very first post of my new blog series. I'll warn you right now dear reader, this editorial is meant to spread the knowledge about movies that have been deemed by myself, and possibly a couple of other people, as either horrible pieces of shit or a "must-see". Now, in this process your favorite movie may be thoroughly trashed and thrown onto the coals. So, if you're still reading along, here's a list and some samples of what to expect in future posts.

It's obvious that some television personalities are just talking heads getting fed lines, jokes, and in some cases personalities via teleprompter. However, while I was gone this past weekend Oprah finally got revealed to be a teleprompter-fed retard which was a great delight to see when I got home. Hopefully this will help people see how much this type of shit happens in the larger media. Seriously, most people know MTV is like this, but I also contend that most cable news channels are like this as well.
Ok, recently I went to a special sale as an electronics store that was closed to the public hoping that I could possibly find a few good deals. Unfortunately what I found was that when comparing the prices of hardware between stores and online retailers, even with the given discount and a $50 gift card I won in a drawing they still had the higher price when it came to the overwhelming majority of computers and electronics.
I had some messages from people saying that they weren't getting emails from the site. I looked into this and noticed that email had stopped working on September 10, 2008. I contacted Zee (our host) about the issue and he mentioned that the server had been rebooted by another admin. After looking into the issue a little deeper, he realized that not only was email not working - but mysql was jacked up as well. Shortly after he noticed this, the site got really wacky and I was afraid that we'd be restoring from backups today. Luckily Zee is the man - so that doesn't have to happen.
